Strathearn Batch Two

Strathern’s distinctive flavour profile and the time invested in crafting its rich spirit shows through in the long awaited Batch 02.

The 2nd batch under the stewardship of Douglas Laing has been created with the same careful cask selection as its predecessor—ex-Bourbon, Virgin Oak, and ex-Sherry Oak.

This release has a greater emphasis on Bourbon cask influence and a reduced proportion of Virgin Oak, this release presents a more rounded Strathearn, enhancing its natural creaminess, freshness, and overall balance.

The shift allows the distillery’s spirit to shine with heightened elegance, a testament to our deepening understanding of Strathearn’s unique character.

Batch two comprises a vatting of 31 casks, drawn from both inherited stock and those produced under Douglas Laing’s ownership.

Batch two was distilled from Maris Otter malt, this carefully selected malt delivers an ultra-rich, creamy character with buttery biscuit notes, honey, and subtle sweetness.

A True Highland Single Malt – Bottled at 50% abv, free from colouring or chill-filtration, maintaining purity and authenticity.

Tasting Notes

Anticipate a rich, sweet nose with Sherry influence, orange zest, malted barley, and honey. The full-bodied palate offers dark fruits, spices, toffee, and caramel, while the long, buttery finish lingers with oak, ginger, and toasted nuts.
