Named for a long-lost distillery that once stood right next door to Springbank, the original warehouse now serves as our bottling hall.
Longrow was first distilled in 1973 to provide a powerfully peated, oily, and robust malt for blending. It proved such a hit that this heavily peated, double-distilled whisky has been a cherished staple in our production calendar since the 1990s.
Longrow Peated offers enthusiasts a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a lingering, deeply smoky experience that travels through the senses, reminiscent of the soft, voluminous smoke billows from a traditional kiln.
Matured in a combination of Bourbon and Sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV, this dram is renowned for its incredible balance.
Tasting Notes
The Nose begins very creamy, with notes of vanilla custard. The smoke emerges gradually, never overpowering the other inviting aromas of toasted marshmallows, herbs, and rich fruits that develop beautifully over time.
On the Palate, it is incredibly well-balanced, rich, and creamy, offering a slight medicinal hint alongside the persistent smoke that washes over the palate in satisfying waves.
The Finish is long and gentle, with the smoke lingering enticingly, leaving you yearning for another taste.
