Lochlea Cask Strength - Batch 3

The Lochlea Cask Strength releases always prove popular with whisky fans, and we are expecting nothing different with our stunning new release, the Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 3.

Batch 2 turned heads with its amazingly dark colour, and the same is true of our Batch 3, it’s a completely new recipe for 2025!

For the first time the Cask Strength Series, they have included peated casks. The recipe for this year is 66% first-fill Oloroso Sherry Butts, and 33% ex-Islay Bourbon Barrels. The resulting dram is a beautiful balance between the richness and a surprising yet subtle twist of smoke.

“On the nose you will find ripe red fruits and BBQ smoke, which is then followed on the palate by cherries, more ripe berries, and dark molasses which are lifted by warming ginger cake, toasted rye, and charred wood smoke. The finish is long and complex, with baking spice, salty smoke, and oaky tannins intertwining with delicate floral notes of red roses.”
