Lindores Abbey - Thiron 2024

THIRON 2024 is the first in a series of annual releases that celebrate Lindores Abbey’s centuries-old ties to the French village and Abbey of Thiron-Gardais where the Tironesian monks came from, who laid down the spiritual foundations of Scotch Whisky.

This single malt has been milled, mashed, fermented and distilled on site at Lindores Abbey Distillery from 100% Fife barley and locally sourced water.

As with all Lindores Whisky, this release is non chill filtered, of natural colour and bottled on site at Lindores Abbey Distillery.

This release is showcasing Single Malt Whisky matured in French Virgin Oak Casks that are a world exclusive, available only to Lindores Abbey Distillery.

These casks have been crafted from oak hewn from the forests of the French village of Thiron-Gardais. Married with matured malt from our exceptional first fill bourbon casks and rejuvenated red wine barriques has yielded a beautiful single malt of unparalleled character.

‘Thiron’ is imbued with beautiful aromas of mellow vanilla cake, caramel syrup, baking spices and fruity plum jam. 

Discover flavours of oaky vanilla, butterscotch, with undertones of more plum jam playing with cinnamon & ginger, and layers of roasted chestnuts.

A finely balanced and complex Whisky, with a delightful finish and the smooth, silky texture that is synonymous with the character of Lindores spirit.
