Ardnamurchan - Sauternes Cask Release

This limited-release, peated whisky from Ardnamurchan Distillery is a truly unique and sought-after expression, with only 8,460 bottles in existence.

It was first matured for three years in ex-Bourbon casks before being re-racked into Sauternes barriques for an additional 3.5 years, a process that imparts a rich and complex character.

Bottled at 50% ABV, it is un-chill filtered and boasts a natural colour, preserving its full-bodied flavour. The whisky's aromatic profile presents an array of notes, from lime leaf and lemon balm to shortbread, pineapple upside-down cake, and desiccated coconut, with hints of pencil shavings and tobacco.

On the palate, it delivers a complex mix of nutmeg, dried ginger, orange blossom water, smoked manuka honey, and lemon meringue pie, with touches of salted cashew nuts and Tajin seasoning.

The experience culminates in a spicy, punchy, and bright finish, leaving a lingering impression of hickory wood, farmy smoke, and earthy depth.
